Maksym Cherkasenko has been a partner at Arzinger since 2008. Maksym is an expert in corporate law and M&A projects. He is also experienced in real estate and construction, antitrust regulation and competition law. Maksym has gained considerable experience in working on business restructuring projects, M&A deals, privatization and insolvency procedures. He also offers management experience gained in large companies such as KINTO and the oil company TNK-BP Ukraine, where he worked as the Head of the Corporate Law and Ownership Affairs.
Maksym led business restructuring and the development of a corporate governance system at TNK-BP Ukraine; advised on privatization issues of a number of energy companies; participated in insolvency procedures at LINOS refinery; and worked on the acquisition of petrol stations and petroleum-storage depots, including the USD 1,000 million of the Gepard network.
Maksym graduated from the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University (faculty of Law), the Kyiv National University of Economics (faculty of Finance) and the Ukrainian School of Political Studies. He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and Ukrainian Bar Association.
